Owner of Matthews Consulting Services, Mary Ann pursues her passion as a handwriting analyst. "Handwriting is really 'brain'writing," she says. "You can't escape from your brain - it controls everything you do."

As the recruitment coordinator for a major real estate developer in Toronto, a position she held for over seven years, Mary Ann came to realize the value of handwriting analysis as one of the selection tools in the interviewing and hiring process. She is quick to point out that at first she was skeptical of the whole idea that handwriting revealed the writer's personality traits, but with further research, was amazed at how accurate handwriting analysis is.

"The combination of my certification in Graphoanalysis (handwriting analysis) and Business Applications of NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), has been invaluable to me in assisting employers and employees alike in getting the right person for the job. This is a big plus for controlling the high cost of hiring staff", she adds. "Through handwriting analysis, I can determine personality traits and job-suitability potential in a matter of minutes. This would normally take an employer 3-4 months to evaluate".

Other applications of handwriting analysis she has used include evaluating compatibility factors, not only in the workplace, but also in personal relationships. "It's amazing", she says, "how the difference will jump off the page at you when you look at the handwriting of two individuals. Through our handwriting, it's easy to see where the incompatibilities lie in our relationships, or why we get along better with one colleague than with another, or find that one of our children is far more difficult to raise than the rest".

Over the past seven years, Mary Ann has given presentations to many groups, including the Credit Valley Hospital, Probus Club, Human Resources and Training Department - Region of Halton, and Social Services Department - Region of Halton, the Business Staff of the Peel District School Board, Halton Professional Business Women's Association, The Association of Image Consultants International, University Women's Club, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Progress Career Planning Centre, International Association of Administrative Professionals, Network of Enterprising Telecom & Technology Specialists (NETTS), The Victorian Order of Nurses, The Fitness Institute.

Personal TV appearances include The Erin Davis Show, Chat TV, Daytime TV Show and City Magazine on Rogers TV.

Mary Ann is currently the president of the Ontario Chapter of Graphoanalysts and teaches basic and advanced classes in handwriting analysis.
