The truth -- THE ABSOLUTE TRUTH -- is that most "experts" that investigate strange occurences and anomalies, not to mention fabricate these conspiracies,
are amatuers with NO proper investigative training. Their "evidence" is circumstantial, and their conclusions are pure speculation. It really isn't that difficult to create widespread panic. If you can get one person to believe the Martians are invading,
it causes a chain reaction. H.G. Wells did it, and it wasn't even intentional.
Of course it doesn't make it any less fun!
